HELP!!!

While I don't approve of crash dieting, I really need to lose a couple of pounds this week to fit into a dress I bought. Does anyone know of any quick fixes? I don't have time to return the dress and buy a size larger (and I think the larger size would be a tad too big, especially around the chest) and I'm not sure I'll have time to buy another one by next Saturday, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. And it goes without saying that I will love you all forever. :)

And in case you're interested in what I am trying to fit into exactly, have a look here...

  2. Oooh lah lah! Love it. I saw some show where a pageant girl ate only cottage cheese and apples to lose weight. I don't know if it actually works though and yeah, it doesn't seem very healthy.

  3. Love that dress! Good advice to slim your body down a bit, fast: drink tons and tons and tons of water, all the time; stay away from anything with high sodium (basically any packaged or prepared foods -- esp. soups -- and for the love of Pete, don't put salt on anything. Sodium causes you to retain water; drinking lots of water, counter-intuitively, makes you flush retained water out of your system.

I would generally for weight loss suggest eating lots of fiber (whole grains, lots of veggies, stuff like that), and follow the golden rule: whenever you eat something with more than 4 grams of fiber, you must drink at least 8oz of water with it. But stay away from fiber for two or three days before the day of the event, stay away from fiber, b/c it can be hard to break down.

Oh, and don't chew gum on the day of the event! It bloats your stomach (and makes you hungrier.)

  4. Detox baby! Liver cleanse... Nothing processed at all. No dairy. No meat - fish okay. Water, water, water!

  5. Eat all the veggies you want. Eat all the fruit you want. Until Dress Day. You'll live.

No meat. No pasta (that means no man-made food). No bread.

Then...you might fit into the dress.

  6. I swear by this diet. I've done it since high school anytime I need to lose a quick 5 to 10 lbs. The weight doesn't stay off permanently, as with most crash diets, but it serves it's purpose. It's the 3 day diet thats been around since the mid-80's. Hell, my mom still does it!

    Day 1

    Breakfast
Black coffee or tea, with 1-2 packets Sweet & Low or Equal
    1/2 grapefruit or juice
1 piece toast with 1 tablespoon peanut butter

    Lunch
    1/2 cup tuna
    1 piece toast
Black coffee or tea, with 1-2 packets Sweet & Low or Equal

    Dinner
3 ounces any lean meat or chicken
    1 cup green beans
    1 cup carrots
    1 apple
1 cup regular vanilla ice cream

    Day 2

    Breakfast
Black coffee or tea, with 1-2 packets Sweet & Low or Equal
    1 egg
    1/2 banana
    1 piece toast

    Lunch
1 cup cottage cheese or tuna
    8 regular saltine crackers

    Dinner
    2 beef franks
    1 cup broccoli or cabbage
    1/2 cup carrots
    1/2 banana
1/2 cup regular vanilla ice cream

    Day 3

    Breakfast
Black coffee or tea, with 1-2 packets Sweet & Low or Equal
    5 regular saltine crackers
    1 ounce cheddar cheese
    1 apple

    Lunch
Black coffee or tea, with 1-2 packets Sweet & Low or Equal
    1 boiled egg
    1 piece toast

    Dinner
    1 cup tuna
    1 cup carrots
    1 cup cauliflower
    1 cup melon
1/2 cup regular vanilla ice cream

In addition drink 64-96ozs of water or noncaloric drinks daily. I use a 32oz gatorade bottle and do crystal lite.

I promise... you will lose the extra few lbs you are wanting to shed. =)

    Good Luck!!

p.s. one should always check with their health care provider before starting any diet to ensure that it is right for you or your heath... blah blah blah.. disclaimer so I don't get sued by someone trying this... oh yeah I don't own the rights to the diet either. blah blah...

  7. Eat whole wheats if you eat toast in the morning, pick only one kind of carb a day. Whenever you wanna snack: fruits. Apple is my favorite. Lean proteins and avoid red meats at all. And this is the ultimate key: cardio exercise at least an hour a day. Sounds hard but there are lots of distractions you can choose to make it simpler : tv, ipod, and my favorite : blog reading with my phone while doing so. Shed at least 600 to 700 calories a day and you're good to go.

Exercise means you don't have to diet so hard. I'm personally bad at cutting back favorites.

  8. my typical crash diet? 500-800 cals a day, nothing that causes bloating (which for me is things like bread, pasta etc.) DEFINITELY not healthy... but it works for the off occasion.

  9. Breakfast: cereal
    Lunch: Soup
Dinner: Risotto, rice dish, similar, with roasted veg.

I do this on weekdays and at weekends I eat whatever (just in smaller portions). I've lost over 16 pounds (weight!) :)

  10. I wish I could help you but I totally have no clue...I would probably starve and work out :P but I don't have the will power to do that :(

  11. Grapefruit juice is meant to help speed up your metabolism, as is spicy food.

    And that dress is gorgeous!

I have absolutely no willpower to try and follow the great suggestions that other folk have left... lol

    xXx
